Kota Kopi

Coffee Bean represents the product
Pinpoint Map icon represents ‘Kota’ from ‘Kota Kopi’

Combined, Kota Kopi Logomark is an essence of the brand’s name and directly indicates the main product and the purpose of the brand, which is bringing various coffee beans from various different locations to be enjoyed at consumer’s home.

While Kota Kopi’s main colors are monochromatic (mainly white on black), other colors can be used on some
occasions (example : colors associated with certain product line).

The Process

“Single Origin Series” are a set of coffee beans product that will be designed in one connecting theme : the colors being monochrome with one contrasting main color from the star flavor of the coffee beans.

Product Brief for Babadan Variant

Coffee beans harvested from Merapi Babadan area on Central Java. With Lychee as its strongest taste, and an underlying Milky Vanilla flavour. The artwork should incorporate these two flavours as the main element.

Final Design

The client has requested to make it less 'abstract'. Client's idea was to have the lychee fruit replaced by a can of lychee  and make it so that the lychee can is being poured by vanilla milk, while including mountain element in the picture.  (Below is the sketch made by the  client)

After a thorough discussion, the final design is made according to the client's wishes while changing some elements to make it more suited for the concept.

Arabica - Robusta Variant

A series of 5 products of coffee beans that are divided according to the percentage of the arabica and robusta.

The main goal of the packaging design is to  make the difference of the percentages obvious between the 5 different types, while also maintaining a sense of unity and continuity between the different labels.

The final packaging labels use the element of "ink" and "mountain" to create an image of the robusta percentage. It is because robusta beans have a stronger taste than the arabica ones. Therefore, the darker (more mountains) there are in the packaging, the more percentage of robusta the product has.

Social Media Design

Just like the branding of Kota Kopi, social media design consists of mainly monochromatic color combined with accent color. This way, the feed and branding can stay consistent while still being flexible. The design also introduces marker-styled typeface to balance the rigid sans serif typefaces.
